The SSC CGL Tier-I exam is an objective exam that will be conducted online. The exam comprises four sections having 100 questions (25 questions in each section) which will account for a total of 200 marks (a maximum of 50 marks in each section). The time duration of the Tier-1 exam will be 60 minutes. There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

  • Mode of Exam: Online Computer-Based Objective Test
  • Time Duration: 1 Hour
  • Negative Marking: 1/4th (0.5 Mark deducted for each wrong answer)
  • Medium of Exam: English and Hindi except for the English Comprehension part.

  • Tier-II will include conducting of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III in separate shift(s)/ day(s).
  • Paper-I is compulsory for all the posts.
  • Paper-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO).
  • Paper-III will be for only those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for Paper-III i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.
  • It will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify all the sections of Paper-I.
  • There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II and Paper-III.

Assistant Audit Officer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with minimum 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th OR 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation
  • Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University.

  • Tier-1: Written Exam (CBT)
  • Tier-2: Written Exam (CBT) and DEST
  • Document Verification
  • Medical Examination
  • The application for on-line registration in the SSC website.
  • Applications will be received on-line only.
  • Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an online Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference.
  • E-mail ID of the applicant is to be given in the application compulsorily.
  • The last date for submitting on-line application is 01/05/2023.
